Dave Grohl Is Collaborating With His Mum On A Book About Raising Dave Grohl

Dave Grohl and his mum Virginia Grohl, are writing a book that will finally tell the story of raising Dave from the perspective of the woman who brought him into the world.

The book will be called From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars – and Dave has been brought on to write the foreword.

It’s due for release in April 2017 – and in writing the novel Virginia Grohl spoke a bunch of industry mums including Dr Dre’s mum, Amy Winehouse’s mum and Adam Levine’s mum; and their stories are also shared in the book.

From Cradle To Stage will also include exclusive family photographs from Dave’s childhood.

The book’s description reads as follows; “Virginia watched her son’s star rise, she often wondered about the other mothers who raised sons and daughters who became rock stars.

“Were they as surprised as she was about their children’s fame? Did they worry about their children’s livelihood and wellbeing in an industry fraught with drugs and other dangers? Did they encourage their children’s passions despite the odds against success, or attempt to dissuade them from their grandiose dreams? Do they remind their kids to pack a warm coat when they go on tour?”
