Dave Grohl Says Taylor Swift Once Saved Him When He Was “Super High” At Paul McCartney’s House

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that Taylor Swift once saved his ass big time when he was “super high” during a party at the house of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.

While performing at France’s Cannes Lions festival on Wednesday night, Grohl prefaced his acoustic performance of the Foo Fighters classic Best Of You with the amazing story of how Swift stopped him from completely embarrassing himself in front of Sir Paul.

Telling his tale in the video below, Grohl explains that after McCartney performed a song at the party, he himself was encouraged to play a tune, but freaked out because all McCartney had was a piano and heaps of left-handed guitars. Oh, and he also freaked out because he had “maybe smoked a little pot”.

“It was kind of like one of those nightmares where you’re running backwards and always late for whatever you got to go to,” Grohl says

“All of a sudden, Taylor Swift stands up, and she’s like, ‘I’ll play a song,'” he adds, before comparing the pop superstar to Batman for swooping in and saving the day by jumping on the piano to perform Best Of You.

Grohl says it took him a while to realise what Swift was playing (for obvious reasons), but once he did he duetted with the singer. “As if I weren’t high enough, that fucking blew me into outer space,” he says.

Hear Grohl tell the whole story before launching into an acoustic version of Best Of You, below.
