Earlier this month, the metal community rallied around Megadeth main man Dave Mustaine after he shared that he’d been diagnosed with throat cancer, with everyone from Slash to Mike Portnoy lending their support.
The band were understandably forced to cancel their tour plans for the remainder of the year, but Mustaine has forged ahead with working on Megadeth’s 16th studio album. Drummer Dirk Verbeuren posted this photo to Instagram, showing Mustaine “like a true warrior” and urging fans to keep the frontman and his family in their thoughts.
The band’s last album was 2016’s Dystopia, with Verbeuren entering the fold shortly afterwards.
