Deafheaven Announce 2016 Australian Tour

Fresh off the back of the announcement that Deafheaven will play Sydney’s VIVID LIVE Festival this year the band has announced that they will be sharing the love with the rest of the country.

Deafheaven’s experimental heavy metal band will play dates in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth following their performance at the Sydney Opera House in June.

They played their first run of dates in Australia back in 2014, treating crowds to 10 minute plus epics that transcend genres while still retaining the core of a heavy metal show.

This will be the first time Deafheaven have toured down-under since the release of their third record New Bermuda, considered by many to be yet another critical slam-dunk for the band after their excellent second record Sunbather.

“There’s a lot going on in each song – they’re very dense, and there’s a lot of texture to the songs,” lead-vocalist George Clarke told Music Feeds last year about New Bermuda.

“Sunbather might be a longer record, but I think the weight of this record matches up to it in that regard. They complement one another quite well.”
