Deers Forced To Change Name, Announce Australian Tour As Hinds

Madrid four-piece, Deers, have announced Australian tour dates as Hinds, after being forced to change their name.

Due to legal pressure from an unnamed Canadian band, the hyped Spaniards are continuing under a new moniker. “We have to change our name,” the band posted on their Facebook. “…We mean they force us to. We received an email from a Canadian lawyer saying that our name created confusion with his band’s name. And that name is not even Deers (lol).”

Under the new name of Hinds, the band are set to embark on their first tour outside Europe, hitting venues in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Hinds’ Garcia Perrote and Carlotta Cosials quickly made a name for themselves in 2014 with their brand of raw garage-pop. They spent much of the year releasing fuzzed-out, lo-fi tracks to their Soundcloud. Within a year of starting the band, they’d opened for The Libertines and toured with The Black Keys. Pretty impressive for a band whose youngest member is only 18.
