Delta Goodrem has been accused of ripping off Arcade Fire’s track Rebellion (Lies) in her first release in 4 years Sitting on Top of the World. The lyrics are worlds apart, but it’s the opening riff that has people worked up.
Former Gerling member, Darren Cross, was the first to post about the similarities between the two tracks, writing on his blog: “Can Arcade Fire sue Delta Goodrem for her new song Sitting on top of the world that totally rips off Arcade Fire’s Rebellion/Lies. Come on people.”
According to news.com.au, Goodrem co-wrote the song with American songwriter and producer John Shanks.
