Denmark’s The Kissaway Trail To Release Breathtaking Second Album

The Kissaway Trail are set to release their breathtaking second album, ‘Sleep Mountain’ 30th April on Speak N Spell (Dappled Cities, Midlake, School Of Seven Bells) through Inertia.

From the press release:

Garnering comparisons to the likes of The Arcade Fire and Band Of Horses for their epic take on indie-pop, The Kissaway Trail offer music of enormous breadth and potency.

Hailing from Odense, Denmark, the five young men in The Kissaway Trail have set sail for new shores, armed with an album full of love, hope and loss. New album, ‘Sleep Mountain’, is eleven indie rock songs loaded with catchy melodies, large string arrangements, banjos and mandolins. Altogether they create an impressive soundscape, with two lead singers and two songwriters bringing even more colour to their already diverse sound.

The album was produced by Peter Katis – the legendary producer behind Interpol, The National and Frightened Rabbit. The final touch was added by the UK’s leading female Mastering Engineer, Mandy Parnell, who has worked with Sigur Rós, Depeche Mode, Fat Boy Slim, Moby, and Múm, to name a few. The album’s gorgeous artwork was designed by, Tracy Maurice, who designed the iconic artwork for The Arcade Fire’s modern classic, ‘Funeral’.

Since recording their debut in spring 2006, things have exploded around the band. The self-titled debut was released in 2007 to rave reviews calling it “a savagely beautiful noise” (NME), “the debut album of the year so far” (The Independent) and “mesmerising” (The Guardian). The band’s live performances are also taking the critics by storm, with The Guardian declaring them “this year’s jawdroppers” and Drowned in Sound concluding that, “the whole experience sticks with the attendee for days, weeks afterwards; they should one day, soon, be playing to far larger crowds.”

Having already toured with the likes of Midlake, The Temper Trap, and Interpol, The Kissaway Trail are one of the most exciting upcoming indie rock acts in the world today. Bold and enchanting, ‘Sleep Mountain’ is destined to conquer hearts and minds.
