Forefathers of the punk rock movement Descendents have announced their long-awaited return to Australian shores, their first such announcement since 2012, where they tore up the stages of the ill-fated No Sleep Til — now how long ago does that feel.
The new Aussie tour in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney comes off the back of the release of Hypercaffium Spazzinate, the long-awaited follow up album to 2004’s Cool To Be With You, and an offering which many fans never thought would happen.
Early indicators suggested that Hypercaffium Spazzinate featured a band who had retained most (if not all) of their hard-earned fury. Then, upon it’s July 28th release, it was abundantly clear that Descendents had never really left.
For three decades, Descendents have been a perfectly good reason for ‘the man’ to keep looking over its shoulder. An ever-present voice for the misfit. Now back on deck, here’s hoping the the decades more.
