It’s finally here. Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small has been hinting at an announcement about our favourite fictional metal band on Twitter and he’s finally let the cat out of the bag – a Metalocalypse rock opera will be airing this October.
Small pleased DETHKLOK fans everywhere after tweeting “What happens to Toki? Metalocalypse; the Doomstar Requiem. A 1hr complete ROCK OPERA w/ 1 hr of brand new original music. Coming soon. RT”. As well as creating the show, Small writes all of DETHKLOK’s music, as well as voicing singer Nathan Explosion, lead guitarist Skwisgaar Skwigelf and drummer Pickles.

In Metalocalypse: The Doom Star Requiem, we pick up directly after the abduction of Dethklok guitarist Toki Wartooth in the season 4 finale. Sounds like the 1-hour special will wrap up all of those season 4 loose ends, but no word on whether we can expect a season 5.
