Dethklok Release ‘Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem’ Track ‘Blazing Star’

The folks behind cult cartoon Metalocalypse have decided to give fans an early treat ahead of next weekend’s screening of Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem: A Klok Opera by releasing a brand-new Dethklok track, Blazing Star.

The song, streaming over on Loudwire, will be available on the full-length soundtrack to the rock opera, which comes out on Stateside on 29th October and includes the orchestral movements produced by creator Brendon Small, alongside composer Bear McCreary, who says he’s been a Metalocalypse fan for many years:

“‘Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem: A Klok Opera’ provided us the opportunity to collaborate that we’d always been looking for. I had a blast helping Brendon realize his vision for a fully-produced orchestral score to accompany his drop-tuned guitars and pounding double kicks. This opera takes his catchy songwriting to a whole new level, and I was thrilled to help out.”

The soundtrack will also feature appearances from human drum machine Gene Hoglan, bassist Bryan Beller from Joe Satriani‘s band and guitarist Mike Keneally, who’s worked with both Satriani and Frank Zappa. The Doomstar Requiem: A Klok Opera screens in the States on 27th October.
