After word came through that burgeoning hip hop star Tinie Tempah would be releasing his latest album this year, we now know that EDM mastermind Diplo has also been working on the tracks, describing the new material as hard, heavy and electronic.
Diplo spoke to The Daily Star about the parnership, and what brought the pair together “Rather than go through his management, Tinie reached out to me directly, which I really respected. We’ve been going back and forth on our tracks, but they sound in the vein of the rap stuff I’ve previously produced – hard and heavy and electronic.”
Diplo isn’t the only award-winning artist to impact the young musician. Chris Martin has apparently also played a key role in the album’s development, with Tempah describing him as “quite an influence…[This album] is definitely a lot more progressive in the quality of the sound. I’ve been listening to Lykke Li and Lana Del Rey, the dynamics of the sound, how big and anthemic it gets.” As NME puts it.
The Major Lazer co-conspirator has left his fingerprints on releases from MIA, Usher and Lil Wayne and they were all much better for it. More recently, he worked with No Doubt with their new single Push and Shove, which you can check out below. Tempah, aka Patrick Okogwu, has confirmed that the album, coined Demonstration will be released this November.
