Disclosure Announce New Album ‘Caracal’

Brotherly dance duo Disclosure have used their Wild Life Festival in Brighton, England, to announce Caracal, the follow-up to their 2013 debut album Settle. The new full-length effort is set for release in September, and is named after none other than a type of wild cat.

In a statement (via Pitchfork), one half of Disclosure, Howard Lawrence, says the caracal’s unique appearance suits the new Disclosure vibes.

“A caracal is an incredible wild cat that I became fascinated with while on tour last year; I just love the way they look, their physical capabilities and their anonymity,” Howard Lawrence says.

“It felt like a perfect fit for our Wild Life brand too, so the caracal made perfect sense as the lead visual for the new album and over the course of recording, it also felt like a natural title for the new record too.”

Howard and his brother Guy have collaborated with the likes of American duo Lion Babe and British-Ghanaian singer-songwriter Kwabs on Caracal, which will also feature their recent Gregory Porter-featuring single, Holding On (below), as well as Jaded, which features vocals from Howard Lawrence.

In May this year Disclosure released Bang That, their first original material in almost two years.

Caracal is set for release on 25th September, and will feature 11 new tracks. Catch the album’s teaser trailer and artwork, below.
