For years, Tasmania has been shunned when it comes to live music and having a wicked festival filled with killer local and international acts.
But thanks to the Breath of Life Festival‘s debut last year, that void is now being filled. And organisers are doing it all again in 2013, with Launceston’s Inveresk Showgrounds to hold the event for a second time. The one-day festival will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 and will feature three stages filled with a great cross-section of bands and DJs.
Like last year, several of the acts who are also in town for the Future Music Festival will be jetting over to the Apple Isle for the event. UK rapper Dizzee Rascal will headline the event, with American DJ A-Trak also leading the international contingent.
Bliss N Eso, 360, Birds of Tokyo, The Amity Affliction and House vs Hurricane lead the local collection of acts. More artists will be announced closer to the date.
And, in an extra nice touch, the festival is donating part of the proceeds to the Australian Lung Foundation, to go towards a multitude of lung health initiatives, including research, education and support for those with lung disease, as well as their families and carers.
Tickets go on sale at 9am this Wednesday, October 24. Tickets are $125 for general admission, or $275 for the special VIP tickets, which include a bunch of extras. Only 500 VIP tickets are available. Punters can also “fundraise their way in” by doing a series of promotional tasks for the Australian Lung Foundation.
