Dizzee Rascal Found Guilty Of Assaulting Ex-Fiancée

In August 2021, London grime MC Dizzee Rascal was charged with domestic assault. He was found guilty in a hearing at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7th March, 2022.

London Metropolitan Police arrested Dizzee – whose real name is Dylan Mills – in June following an incident at a residential address in the south London neighbourhood of Streatham. Per a police statement, a woman reported minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.

It has since been revealed that the woman in question was Cassandra Jones, the mother of Dizzee’s two children. The Guardian reports that the 37 year old musician “barged” into Jones’ home, banged his head on the fridge while holding his son and screamed at Jones and her mother, Dawn Kirk. Dizzee was also accused of pressing his forehead against Jones’ and pushing her to the ground.

The “chaotic” argument stemmed from Dizzee’s frustration at the couple’s custody arrangements, reports The Guardian. District judge Polly Gledhill concluded that, “I am satisfied so that I am sure that on 8 June, Mr Mills, on returning home with the child late, lost his temper in an argument over child contact and finances.”

Dizzee Rascal will return for sentencing on 8th April, 2022. As he left the court, Dizzee angrily grabbed PA media photographer James Manning’s camera, knocked it from his hands and threw it across the road.
