DJ Shadow Announces 2017 ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ Australian Tour

The legendary DJ Shadow has announced a full-blown 2017 Australia tour, after being announced on the lineup for Sydney’s Vivid Festival earlier this month.

DJ Shadow (real name Josh Davis) is now also set to bring his production, mixing, scratch and DJ skills to Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne this May, as part of his tour for latest album The Mountain Will Fall. He’s also performing with The Avalanches at Vivid Festival.

Best-known for his influential debut album Entroducing…, Davis has since collaborated with the likes of Run The Jewels, Nils Frahm, UNKLE, Blackalicious, Handsome Boy Modelling School and DJ Cut Chemist.

“I try to force myself to change things on every record, and it’s why I feel that my music will always change,” Davis says.

“It’s a bit preposterous to use old samplers when there’s so much more you can do with the new ones. We’d never have the amazing music that Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock did in the 1970s if they’d refused to use new synthesizers, which really defined what they did. It’s people like that that I look to for inspiration.”
