DOMi & JD BECK, Nabihah Iqbal & Lydia Lunch Feature on Phoenix Central Park’s Season XI Program

Boutique Sydney venue Phoenix Central Park has announced its upcoming program, set to take place across the first quarter of 2024. Several international artists have been included in next year’s schedule, including Laneway stars DOMi & JD Beck, English singer-songwriter/DJ Nabihah Iqbal and New York no-wave singer/poet Lydia Lunch.

“Season XI represents Phoenix Central Park’s sustained commitment to presenting work that advances the form, without losing sight of the icons and touchstones that continue to shape our contemporary culture,” said Beau Neilson — the venue’s creative director — in a press statement.

“There are several throughlines that run across this varied and eclectic program — you will find punk icon Mick Harvey among electronic auteurs like Tim Hecker, defiant renegades such as Lydia Lunch and Mulalo alongside new-generation storytellers; and several emerging local artists for whom 2024 will be their year.”

DOMi & JD Beck – ‘SMiLE’

Phoenix Central Park’s 11th season will begin with two performances from Iqbal on Thursday January 11th and conclude with a performance from Sydney alt-country singer-songwriter Zane Banks on Thursday April 18th. A full list of performers and dates can be found below.

As has been the case since the venue’s inception, tickets to Phoenix Central Park shows cannot be purchased. They can only be won by entering a ballot on the venue’s website, with successful entrants being notified a week prior to the show they applied for. Each artist will perform two sets each night, at 6:30 and 8:15, unless otherwise specified. Ballots can be entered here.

Phoenix Central Park is currently wrapping its tenth season of programming, with the final show coming on Tuesday night (December 12) from Greek artist Evita Manji. Other performers throughout Season X included Mildlife, They Hate Change and xmunashe.
