Not content with a pretty ass-kicking roster so far, the UK’s Download Festival has announced 17 new acts overnight to give us their complete line-up, including the two remaining headliners on a couple of the smaller stages.
Leading the pack is American rockers Black Stone Cherry, who are going to close the Encore Stage on the Friday night, providing an alternative for those who don’t want to go see Slipknot tear it up on the main stage. Dragonforce will surely get a loud hometown reception when they bring their ridiculous solos and other technical metal madness to the Encore Stage earlier in the evening.
The other smaller stage headlining spot has been given to Norway black metallers Satyricon, who will close the Pepsi Max Stage on Sunday, the same night as Limp Bizkit and Rammstein tear it up elsewhere.
A handful of other UK hard rock acts were also added to the bill, including Idiom, Voodoo Six and Hammer Of The Gods.
Organisers have also announced that individual day tickets to the festival will go on sale this Thursday, 28th March at 9am local time (8pm AEDT). Prices haven’t been revealed, but given that 3-day passes to the festival (without camping) are £170, you’d probably expect something around the £60-70 mark.
You can find out who is playing on what day via the official poster – Saturday is definitely looking the tastiest to us. Having said that, local heroes Parkway Drive and Airbourne will be making their presence felt the following day, so that could be the ideal time to grab your Aussie flag and wave it around in there.
Download Festival takes place at Donington Park in the UK from 14th-16th June. The festival is headlined this year by Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein. More info is available at the festival’s official website.
