Download Festival Drops 2017 Spain Lineup For Aussies To Froth Over

Ever since Download Festival dropped its huge first release of acts for its upcoming UK event a couple of weeks ago, us Aussies have been waiting, patiently as ever, to find out which acts might hit our shores when Download Festival comes to Australia. Although that time hasn’t quite arrived, the first block of Spain’s new Download lineup has now been released, giving us a bunch more to froth over.

System Of A Down were already confirmed as headliners for the Madrid edition of Download Festival 2017, held at La Caja Mágica in June, but now the event has scored a new list of seriously massive heavy and metal acts.

Also confirmed for Download Festival Madrid 2017 are Linkin Park, Prophets of Rage (feat. members of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill), NOFX, Opeth, Every Time I Die, Zakk Wylde’s Black Sabbath tribute band Zakk Sabbath, Deafheaven, Sòlstafir, Myrath and God Damn.

God damn indeed, and there’s still even more acts to be announced. If you weren’t excited before, you most certainly will be now.

Although Download Festival Australia hasn’t officially been announced yet, the domain name for the event has been purchased by touring bigwigs Live Nation, so keep those eyes peeled for further announcements and froth over Download’s new Spain lineup, below.
