The organisers of Download Festival have unveiled the first acts for the Spanish leg of their 2018 event, which will take place in Madrid next June.
Topped by Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne — who was also just announced on the Download UK lineup — Madrid’s first lineup announcement also boasts the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Judas Priest, Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle and Bullet For My Valentine.
A Perfect Circle, Bullet For My Valentine and Clutch are also on the roster, and you can view the full list of just-announced bands, below.
Today’s Madrid announcement comes as Download Festival prepares to announce its debut Australian lineup later this week, and Music Feeds understands the roster will include the likes of Korn, Limp Bizkit, Prophets Of Rage and NOFX.
While the Madrid lineup doesn’t suggest that Australia copping the same acts next year, it’s a taste of where organisers’ heads are at right now, and a sneak peak at how they’re curating next year’s Download events.
Interestingly, Avenged Sevenfold have allegedly been “talking to promoters” about a new Australian tour, while Marilyn Manson has said he wants to tour Australia soon — just not at an outdoor festival.
The full Download Australia lineup will be revealed at 9am AEDT this Thursday, 9th November. Read up on everything we know about the festival (so far) in the gallery below.
