In December 2021, Dr. Dre contributed six new songs to the soundtrack of the GTA Online expansion, The Contract.
The new tracks reunited Dre with many of his previous collaborators, including Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Anderson .Paak, as well as acts like Thurz, Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign and the late Nipsey Hussle.
Until now, the songs were only available in the game. All six tracks can now be found on streaming services.
There’s ‘The Scenic Route’ (with Rick Ross and Anderson .Paak); ‘Gospel’ (with Eminem); ‘Diamond Mind’ (with Ty Dolla $ign and Nipsey Hussle); ‘ETA’ (with Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes & Anderson .Paak); ‘Fallin Up’ (with Thurz and Cocoa Sarai); and the Dre solo cut, ‘Black Privilege’.
Dr. Dre worked on the tracks with a slew of big name producers. ‘Phonix’ co-produced ‘The Scenic Route’; Listen2KÖACH co-produced ‘Gospel’; The Alchemist and Mike & Keys co-produced ‘Diamond Mind’; J.Lbs co-produced ‘ETA’; ‘Dem Jointz’ co-produced ‘Fallin’; B!nk co-produced ‘Black Privilege’.
Dr. Dre and Eminem’s relationship dates back to Em’s major label debut, The Slim Shady LP, from 1999. Dre produced the singles ‘My Name Is’ and ‘Guilty Conscience’. He’s since produced a number of Eminem’s biggest hits, including ‘The Real Slim Shady’, ‘Business’ and ‘Just Lose It’.
