Drake has stuck it to the likes of Kanye West, Meek Mill and US President Barack Obama on his new track Summer Sixteen, the first single to be taken from his upcoming album Views From The 6, which the rapper says will be released in April.
Premiered on the latest episode of OVO Sound Radio on Beats 1, Summer Sixteen (which is, of course, nothing like Bryan Adams’ Summer Of ’69) sees Drizzy claim that he has a bigger swimming pool that Kanye, but he says it in a pretty polite way.
“I used to want to be on Roc-A-Fella, then I turned into Jay / Now I got a house in LA / Now I got a bigger pool than Ye, and, look man, Ye’s pool is nice / Mine’s just bigger is what I’m saying,” Drake raps, before the song ends with DJ Khaled saying, “They don’t want us to have a bigger pool than Kanye!”
Genius.
Summer Sixteen also sees Drake call out President Obama, who recently declared that Drake isn’t as good as Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar. “To do what you couldn’t do,” Drake spits on the track. “Tell Obama that my verses are like the whips at the end / They bulletproof.”
As for Meek Mill, Drake continues their beef by saying, “I let the diss record drop you were standing right below me, nigga.
“We must have played it a hundred times, you was going to bed / Why would I put on a vest I expect you to aim for the head? / I coulda killed you the first time.”
Kanye, President Obama and Meek Mill are yet to publicly react to Drizzy’s new track, which is currently available through iTunes and Apple Music.
Drake’s 2015 hit single Hotline Bling clocked in at number 14 on triple j‘s Hottest 100 of 2015 earlier this month.
