Drake is readying new album Certified Lover Boy for release tomorrow (3rd September), and just before it arrives, the rapper has shared some of the artists who are set to feature.
As Pitchfork points out, billboards have sprung up in various US cities revealing a star-studded assortment of collaborators, with each city naming artists associated with that city. A billboard in Atlanta, for instance, confirms the involvement of Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage and Lil Baby, all of whom are based in Georgia’s capital city. Another in California, meanwhile, names Los Angeles rappers Giveon and Ty Dolla $ign as contributors.
A Chicago billboard confirms that Lil Durk will be on the album. However, this was already confirmed as the rapper featured on CLB lead single ‘Laugh Now, Cry Later’, which dropped back in August of last year. Finally, a billboard in New York promises an appearance from “The GOAT” – likely Jay-Z.
Certified Lover Boy will mark Drake’s sixth studio album, following 2018’s Scorpion. He has also released a string of mixtapes and EPs, the most recent of which, Scary Hours 2, came out in March 2021. Earlier this week, the pop-rap superstar revealed the Damien Hirst-created cover art which features 12 emojis of pregnant women with varying hair and shirt colours and skin tones.
