Aussie post-hardcore exports Dream On Dreamer have checked in from their current European tour to report some rotten news. The band say that prior to their performance in Milan, their van was broken into, with thieves making off with electronics, personal items and their passports.
The break-in has proved to be a devastating blow for the band, who have announced that they won’t be able to continue on with their remaining European dates. Of course, given that they can’t cross boarders, it’s not going to be as simple as catching the next flight home.
As a result, Dream On Dreamer have thrown it to the fans for support, directing us to a GoFundMe crowdfunding page aimed not at recouping their loses, but so that they can just get back on home soil. Within 10 hours, the band are already well on the way to their $8,000 target.
Dream On Dreamer were yet to play shows in Austria, Czech Republic and Russia, and the band have taken to Facebook to vent their frustrating at “having to let others down because of the actions of a few selfish people”.
“Missing out on shows and being unable to cross borders for connecting flights home is the last thing that we would ever want to be facing, but unfortunately it is the position we are now in,” the band say.
Dream On Dreamer were only recently in town supporting Escape The Fate’s Aussie tour, so there’s no doubt this blow will only be a temporary bump in their current hot streak.
