Earlier this month, it was confirmed that US singer Halsey would be performing at this year’s ARIA Awards ceremony in November.
It appears the surprises don’t stop there though, with Dua Lipa now also announced as one of the international artists who will be performing at the 2019 Awards.
The two-time Grammy Award winner has established herself as one of pop’s most interesting artists over the past few years, releasing her debut self-titled album back in 2017. Buoyed by hit singles like ‘New Rules’ and Calvin Harris collab ‘One Kiss’, the album has gone on to sell over 4 million copies.
“I am thrilled to have Dua Lipa join us for the ARIA Awards this November,” says ARIA Chief Executive Dan Rosen about her appearance.
“She is a global superstar who has dominated the charts around the world and here in Australia. I cannot wait to see her take the ARIA stage.”
Lipa’s new single ‘Don’t Start Now’ is set to be released tomorrow, Friday, 1st November – presumably the first taste of the follow-up to her 2017 debut.
The 2019 ARIA Awards will take place at The Star in Sydney on Wednesday, 27th November. Hosted by Guy Sebastian, they’ll be broadcast on the Nine Network as well as live streamed internationally on YouTube.
Earlier this month, this year’s nominations were announced in full, with the likes of Tones and I, Thelma Plum, Paul Kelly and Hilltop Hoods all scoring a stack of noms. Head here to check out the full list of nominations.
