Earth Wind & Fire Australian Tour April 2012 – Bluesfest Sideshows

Soul and R&B heroes, Earth, Wind & Fire will return to Australia in April on the back of their appearance on the Bluesfest 2012 line-up in Byron Bay.

Arriving on Wednesday 4th April at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre, the tour then heads north to Sydney for a show at the Hordern Pavilion (Reserved Seating) on Thursday 5th April, before hitting Byron Bay to take the stage at Bluesfest on Friday 6th April.

Beginning as a songwriting team named The Salty Peppers in Chicago, Illinois in 1969 by brothers Verdine and Maurice White, the band quickly evolved. Maurice’s astrological sign, Sagittarius, has a primary elemental quality of Fire and seasonal qualities of Earth and Air. Based on this, and following a move to Los Angeles, he changed the band’s name to Earth, Wind & Fire and added guitars, reeds, a horn section, piano and more vocals, completing the then ten-man line-up.

After blazing through the disco movement and enduring several line-up changes over the decades, the band has won six Grammy Awards and four American Music Awards, as well as being inducted into both the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame. The band keep rolling on with the party in 2012.
