Eliza & The Delusionals are closing in on the release of their second studio album Make It Feel Like the Garden this July, and they’ve just graced us with another taste of the forthcoming record in the form of a fresh single dubbed ‘Somebody’.
The sax solo-infused cut delves into themes of vulnerability, while meditating on the fear of loss.
Eliza & The Delusionals – ‘Somebody’
“This was another song we wrote in our DIY studio at our friend’s place in Napa, California,” lead singer Eliza Klatt explains in a press statement. “It started with a percussion loop and Kurt playing around with some chords on the piano. It eventually turned into this big piano moment that we were both obsessed with.”
She continues: “We loved how it had ‘80s vibes and knew we had to have a saxophone moment in there somewhere. I remember seeing all of our faces in the studio when we did the sax and having a ‘wow, I can’t believe this is our song’ moment.”
The track features on the band’s forthcoming sophomore LP Make It Feel Like the Garden, the follow-up to their 2022 debut album Now & Then, which is set to reach our ears on Friday, 19th July.
To celebrate the release, Eliza & The Delusionals will be hitting the road for a national album tour performing songs from the record for the very first time to fans across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane this August.
