The ghost of Elvis Presley will tour Australia in 2017, backed by a 40-piece orchestra.
Elvis may have left the building, but you can catch his virtual likeness performing live at arenas in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Tasmania in May and June of next year.
The King’s voice and likeness will appear on screen as part of a virtual arena tour featuring symphonic re-workings of his vast collection of chart-topping hits.
Dubbed The Wonder of You after the forthcoming orchestral album of the same name, the tour is being spruiked as “the closest possible experience to seeing The King ELVIS perform live”.
“What an honour for us to be able to produce a live concert experience that evolved out of what has become a very prestigious and beloved album backed by a full and rich symphony orchestra,” Elvis’s former wife Priscilla Presley says in a statement (via News Corp).
And to cap off the new tour announcement, Sony Music will release The Wonder Of You: Elvis Presley with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra LP on Friday, 21st October 2016.
