American rapper Eminem teams up with metro Detroit emcee Babytron and Detroit native Big Sean to make a new single titled ‘Tobey’ which is going to be released on Tuesday, 2nd July.
This track is going to be the second release of Eminem’s upcoming album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).”
Eminem- ‘Tobey’
From the lyrics of the teaser, netizens have made an assumption that the track ‘Tobey’ is a reference to Spider-Man’s Tobey Maguire and will arrive some days before the Cole Bennett-directed video, which is going to be premiered on Wednesday, 5th July.
In a preview for the clip, on social media, Eminem can be seen wearing a hockey mask and wielding a chainsaw, something similar to the ones that he used in his Anger Management tour back in 2000.
Eminem seems to be getting a little nostalgic in the rollout for “The Death of Slim Shady” with the release of his track “Houdini’’ a few weeks back which is similar to his 2002 single titled ‘Without Me’. In the music video of “Houdini”, Eminem can be seen wearing a superhero costume that navigates a comic strip world, something which is similar to what he did in the music video of “Without Me”. This method connects with the fans and evokes all the memories of the earlier days.
The announcement of ‘The Death of Slim Shady’ was made during the NFL Draft in April, along with a teaser of a crime show named Detroit Murder Files.
There are no further details of ‘The Death of Slim Shady’ as Eminem chose to remain quiet about it.
