The internet is rife with speculation that Eminem might be teasing a new album called Revival using advertisements for a fake drug of the same name.
This morning, the rapper’s manager Paul Rosenberg posted a photo to Instagram of Yelawolf’s third album, but some fans noticed a billboard in the background for a drug called Revival, whose logo features the same backwards “E” used in Eminem’s logo.
According to a print ad directory found by fans on Reddit, the ad was actually placed by Eminem’s label Interscope Records. What’s more, the fake drug even has a website and a phone number, which both reference Eminem in some way.
The website features a video about Revival, which supposedly treats a condition called ‘Atrox Rithimus’, which isn’t a real thing.
The video also references Eminem’s hit single ‘Lose Yourself’ — which recently netted him a cool NZ$600,000 after it was ripped off by a New Zealand political party.
As seen in the video below, the phone number on the website runs a pre-recorded message about the drug’s hilariously ridiculous side effects — like having “tight glutes” or “a ringing in your mouth” — while a melody from Dr. Dre’s ‘I Need A Doctor’ featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey plays in the background.
Eminem released his latest album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in 2013, and earlier this month his producer revealed that the rapper’s new album was “done”.
