Spanish singer and songwriter Enrique Iglesias looks set to retire from music after three decades in the industry. The 48-year-old artist, celebrated for pop hits like ‘Hero’ and ‘Bailando’, is ready to bid farewell to his fans with the release of his next album, Final (Vol. 2), which is due out in February 2024.
In an interview with Today, Iglesias said the album is ready for release. “It’s completely finished.” he said. “What I want to do is shoot one or two videos right before the second leg of the tour and launch it.” Iglesias’ previous album, Final (Vol. 1), came out in 2021.
Enrique Iglesias, Maria Becerra – ‘ASI ES LA VIDA’
Iglesias has invested a lot of time into the album, viewing it as his farewell statement. “I’ve been working on this album for quite a bunch of years,” he told Today. “And for me it was always, like I said, my final album. This is it. I don’t think – no, I know, I won’t be doing any more albums.”
Two singles from the album have come out so far: ‘Espacio en Tu Corazón’ in March 2022 and ‘Así Es La Vida’ in October 2023. The latter song features Argentine singer Maria Beccera.
Iglesias is currently on The Trilogy Tour alongside Ricky Martin and Pitbull – the trio have been playing arena venues around North America since the middle of October.
