E^ST has delivered her second Like A Version this morning and it’s honestly stunning. From the theatrical introduction to the cover, to the gentle instrumentals and of course, her bloody pipes. It’s a knock-out cover of Joji’s ‘slow dancing in the dark’ and ooooft.
Her vocals absolutely soar through the chorus, the whole thing is really, really beautiful.
E^ST blessed us with a rendition of recent single ‘FRESH OUT OF LOVE’ too. The stripped back, acoustic version of the song is filled with these lovely, layered harmonies and really highlights how stunning her vocals are.
In her Behind The Like A Version E^ST reveals that Joji was actually her artist of the decade on Spotify’s wrap up.
It’s her second time in the Like A Version studio. She took on The Verve’s ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ back in 2015 and mashed the cover with Massive Attack’s ‘Teardrop’.
“My last Like A Version was about five years ago. I was 17 and very new to being an artist,” she said.
“It was kind of stressful doing it again five years later ’cause I feel like I set the bar kind of high for myself with that one. My game plan was to do something totally different this time and not try to recreate that,” she said.
“I think my favourite part was definitely the ‘in the dark moment’,” says E^ST.
“I don’t really write big belt-ey moments like that. It was fun to have an excuse to sing at the top of my lungs.”

As well as smashing this morning’s Like A Version, E^ST is blessing fans with two intimate shows on Sunday, 2nd August at The Vanguard in Sydney. She’ll be performing a stripped back, intimate set. There’s 50 tickets available for each show, catch the deets below.
