Spoiler Alert: Eurovision 2013 Winner Announced

Emmelie de Forest has won the 2013 Eurovision Song Competition for Denmark with her song Only Teardrops. In a bizarre situation, the host of the event announced Denmark as the winner before the remaining votes from Cyprus and Croatia were counted. With Denmark 47 votes ahead of second place this didn’t turn out to be a problem.

20-year-old De Forest was the bookies favourite leading into the final. Speaking on Danish Television, De Forest said “This is totally fantastic…I’m so happy”.

Azerbaijan’s Farid Mammadov came in second and Ukraine’s Zlata Ognevich was third with the song Gravity.
