Australian hip hop pioneers 1200 Techniques are back together and have broken their decade of silence with the announcement of their aptly titled new EP Time Has Come, due out on Friday, 23rd January. Until then, we’re happy to say it’s streaming exclusively on Music Feeds.
The EP is the group’s first new music since 2004’s album Consistency Theory and its title track talks about their experiences with the music industry through their eyes. “We wanted to share a bit of our story, our ups and downs for people who have been asking us on the street, and also for the young artists coming up who have no idea what to really expect”, says vocalist N’fa Forster-Jones
Adds DJ Peril, “It hasn’t come out of an instant sort of hip-hop pack – like, just add milk.” As is their style, 1200 Techniques remain DIY and DJ Peril produced and mixed the new EP entirely in his bedroom.
Fans who preorder Time Has Come over at 1200 Techniques’ Pledgemusic page can access an array of incentives, merchandise and unique experiences with the band. Time Has Come is out on Friday, 23rd January through Rubber Records. Stream it below.
