Here, Have Your Face Ripped Off By Grinspoon Legend Phil Jamieson’s Insane Live ‘Ace Of Spades’ Cover

Phil Jamieson has re-emerged to blow our minds with a ripping cover of Motorhead’s iconic speed-rock anthem Ace Of Spades (and simultaneously jab a knife into our Grinspoon-deprived hearts).

The Grinners frontman appeared alongside a mixed bag of some of Australia’s fave artists from across the genre spectrum late last year for a bash celebrating music and beer at Sydney’s premiere den of cheese & sleaze, Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice.

Jamo delivered an ~ace~ rendition of Spades backed by a musical mega-squadron featuring You Am I‘s Andy Kent and Davey Lane and Wolf And Cub‘s Brock Fitzgerald (AKA “the amazing and fantabulous Bar Flying Circus Band”) in a performance that would have seen Lemmy Kilmister smiling down from rock n’ roll heaven, Jack & coke in hand.

Pro-shot footage of the whole thing has just been uploaded by the dudes at Moshcam, which you can check out below.

The evening, masterminded by swill demons Young Henrys, also featured performances from Triple J’s Hack host and Client Liaison’s slap bass president Tom Tilley, The Snowdroppers‘ Jeremy Davidson, All Our Exes Live In Texas‘s Elana Stone, Katie Wighton, Hannah Crofts and Georgia Mooney, The John Steel Singers‘ Kirsty Tickle and loads more.

Meanwhile, while we continue to wait patiently for the day that Grinspoon finally decide to return to fill our ears with glorious homegrown rock n’ roll once more, you can catch Phil making his theatrical debut in the Aussie premiere of Green Day’s punk musical American Idiotsharing the lead role with The Living End’s Chris Cheney.
