A fake ticket agency by the name of Good Time Entertainment has scammed nearly £3,000,000 out of would-be showgoers by allegedly selling counterfeit tickets. The phoney business was made up by three men: Gary Agar, Andrew Lagan and David Rolls.
As reported by NME, Harrow Crown Court recently heard how Good Time Entertainment allegedly sold fake tickets to shows by Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, and King of Leon as well as events such as V Festival, T in the Park, and Benicassim Festival.
Prosecutor Toby Fitzgerald said that the offences, which occurred between November 2009 and October 2010, were purely a deception of the public and involved no trade.
“Together the defendants operated Good Time Entertainment Ltd, and through the use of this company and websites associated with it, the defendants offered tickets for sale to members of the public over the internet,” Fitzgerald told the Daily Mail
“They created 100% profit for themselves because they took the money without providing anything in return. Having had the money transferred into a bank account controlled by the defendants, the money was removed from the bank account,” added Fitzgerald.
The trial is continuing.
