Falls Festival has announced the 3 lucky local bands that will join this year’s line-up. After a month of campaigning throughout October from media and musicians alike, the polls are closed and the results are in. The following Tasmanian talent have scored a paid spot alongside other local artists programmed on The Falls Festival Marion Bay line-up this December:
The Dirty Love – these Deep South rock’n’rollers produce pulse-pounding anthems that sound like they were birthed in the 70s and found their way into the modern day.
Sam Cole & The Mornings – this indie/folk six-piece ignites their sounds on stage with a burst of colour sparked by warm, up-lifting rhythms, heart-wrenching dynamics and honest “eyes wide open” lyrics.
Sole Stickers – purveyors of classic Australian guitar driven rock/pop; blending lyrical smarts, sharp melodic hooks, fuzzed out guitars and driving rhythms.
There were thousands of votes cast by various music lovers from across Tasmania and Australia. In what was an extremely close race, run by some of Tasmania’s best artists and aided by supportive media friends, there were only a few votes separating the winners.
The Falls Music & Arts Festival have also added two new acts to the Boogie Nights Program:
The Duchess, hailing from Melbourne, is ready to spin her eclectic soul, disco and urban beats all over the Marion Bay dance floors.
The Funk N Soul Brass Brothers are a 5-man Tasmanian outfit; expect punchy horn lines and upbeat grooves as they wander from hip-hop to old soul classics.
