Falls Festival Lineups Expand With Seven New Acts

The 2014/2015 Falls Music & Arts Festival has expanded its lineup with some exciting up-and-coming Australian acts who have literally won their right to play. Falls has filled out its lineup with acts who have won big in either triple j‘s Unearthed or the festival’s own “Foster A Band” competitions.

Three Aussie acts have sufficiently impressed the triple j Unearthed judges to claim their spot on this year’s Falls lineup. Melbourne electronic duo GL will play the festival’s Lorne leg, while Tasmanian psych-rockers Violet Swells perform in Marion Bay. Surf-pop duo Hockey Dad will have the honour of playing the Byron Bay iteration of Falls Festival.

After receiving the most votes in Marion Bay’s Foster A Band comp, progressive rockers Dark Matter of Story Telling, three-piece rock band Verticoli and indie upstarts Ursine have secured their respective places on the prestigious Falls schedule. Festival organisers have also invited 2012 Foster A Band winners Luca Brasi back to perform in Tassie this year. The band have now released two albums, and have toured with the likes of Violent Soho and The Smith Street Band.

UPDATE 01/12/14: The Byron Bay leg of Falls Festival 2014/2015 has seen a capacity increase, with up to 2,500 extra to be released tomorrow, 2nd December. Three new acts have also been added to the lineup. Updated full lineup and ticket details are available below.
