A Lil’ Wayne fan who alleges that a member of the rapper’s crew bashed him in the head with a skateboard last year is suing for damages.
TMZ reports that Alfredo Marino spotted the controversial rapper on the streets of Los Angeles in May last year, and, like any star-spotting fan, tried to take a photo of him.
According to his lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles’ County Superior Court, a member of Wayne’s posse noticed his efforts, grabbed a skateboard, and smashed Marino in the back of the head.
Marino claims that he suffered severe head injuries from the incident, and is demanding answers from Wayne and his record label because he believes that they were responsible for enabling the attacker to carry out his actions.
The rapper is known for his love of skateboarding, and at the start of the year, took it to a new level. The Urban Daily reported that Wayne got the word ‘Baked’ tattooed on his head, in homage to the Baker Skateboard company.
“I picked up the skateboard and I thought it would be a hobby, but it’s a lifestyle. You have to be fully committed. In order to be fully committed, you have to live that lifestyle. What these young kids say right now, you have to be about that life. I guess I’m about that life,” he said at the time.
