Feeds Fresh Faces: Bad Pony

Meet indie rockers Bad Pony, Sydney’s answer to the feel good indie pop of bands like Two Door Cinema Club and Phoenix. The latest act to sign on for bookings with 123 Agency, the lads have a big year ahead of them, kicking of with the release of their new single Sideways and national tour supporting it.

Self produced and recorded at guitarist Cron Van Niekerk’s home studio, the hook stuffed bundle of fun is a standout cut of indie goodness. Drawing on the band’s many influences – and most clearly their love of catchy feel good pop – Sideways is nevertheless very much their own song, the band carving out their own eclectic sonic niche in among their idols.

Following on from the strong performance on Australian radio of the band’s earlier singles Zombie, Down To You and Michael Moore, Sideways is sure to see plenty of love from triple j and community radio across the nation.

The last year saw the band stretch their legs by visiting boutique regional events such as Marmalade Skies Festival in NSW and Red Deer Festival in Queensland, and 2016 will see them embark on their biggest tour to date as they traverse the country in support of Sideways.

Visiting capital cities and regional centres down the east coast, the boys unfortunately won’t be able to make it to South Australia or Western Australia this time round. However with 123 Agency now on their side, you be sure to see more of the band on stages around Australia in the future.

Have a listen to Sideways for yourself below with full tour details available here.
