The Cat Empire front person Felix Riebl has unveiled Everyday Amen, his third solo album and his first full-length release since 2016. Riebl announced the record in July and offered the singles ‘Barcelona Beers’, ‘Carry Your Scar’, and ‘Everyday Amen’ in the lead-up to its release.
In conjunction with the album’s release, Riebl has shared the music video for his latest single, ‘Liar’. ‘Liar’ revels in contrasts, pairing strings with rock instrumentation in an effort to pay homage to the strong classical contingent in Riebl’s family.

“‘Ya Liar’ is also a direct reference to Bob Dylan’s famous concert at the Royal Albert hall in 1966,” Riebl said in a statement. “[Dylan] was called ‘Judas’ for playing an electric set instead of an acoustic one and he went into ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ and muttered to his band to ‘play it fuckin loud!'”
Everyday Amen came together in just two weeks with help from producers, engineers and arrangers Andy Baldwin and Ross Irwin. Riebl wanted the songs on the album to bring attention to the various curiosities present in everyday life, encouraging listeners to approach each day with a sense of joy.
“Everyday Amen is one of the most exuberant, full-of-life albums I’ve ever been involved in,” Riebl said. “It brings together worlds that are particularly special to me. It’s a celebration of the extrovert and introvert in me, and the music comes to life at those points where the familiar flips and suddenly becomes magic.”
Riebl will launch the album with an appearance at Queenscliff Music Festival on Saturday, 26th November and a headline show at Melbourne Recital Centre on Tuesday, 29th November.
