The lineup for Field Day 2014 has been officially announced, giving punters yet another reminder of why Field Day exists. New Year’s Day 2014 will see happy revellers partying to the sounds of Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, Flume, Solange, The Wombats, and many more!
Yesterday, the organisers of the event confirmed UK acts London Grammar and Julio Bashmore for the 2014 bill, in the process giving away free VIP tickets to lucky punters who managed to pick out their hidden names in the official Field Day trailer (below).
Other clues hidden in the trailer included the soundtrack: the Flume remix of the Hermitude track Hyperparadise. The organisers have announced that not one, but both of these major Australian talents are on the lineup for Field Day 2014.
Already rocking Origin NYE, Beachlife, and co-headline dates in Sydney and Melbourne, A$AP Rocky and Wiz Khalifa will each be tearing up the Field Day stage come New Year’s Day. With a string of blitzing singles to their names, hip-hop fans will be in heaven.
Set to play Falls Festival and a string of sideshows, Solange has quickly established herself as a musical force in her own right, rivalling even her diva sister, Beyonce. Solange combines retro R&B and modern grooves into a seamlessly hip and chilled mix, with some epic vocal talents to boot.
Everyone’s favourite trio of Liverpudlians, The Wombats have just released their latest single and video for Your Body is a Weapon and it’s a corker. Frequent visitors to Aussie shores, their high-energy live shows are lauded by critics and fans alike.
Continuing the theme of quality Aussie EDM, Chet Faker and Ta-Ku are on the Field Day 2014 roster, and sure to be bringing many of their fantastic tunes to the day. With the two and Flume having all collaborated previously, NYD 2014 might be something special for Aussie EDM fans.
Other names on the bill include Flight Facilities, Flux Pavilion, What So Not, Crystal Fighters, Jacques Greene, Alison Wonderland, Cosmo’s Midnight and Elizabeth Rose, just to name a few. Readers can check below for the full Field Day 2014 lineup as well as all other details.
Tickets are on sale now, with Early Bird General Admission tickets priced at $118 + booking fee, while General Release tickets are priced $138 + booking fee, going on sale when Early Bird tickets sell out. For those with a little extra cash to spend, VIP tickets come in at $185 + booking fee.

London Grammar (UK) - Having recently released their debut album, London Grammar are the toast of the town right now, picking Australia as one of the first stop-offs for their international touring rounds. The trio will be performing a run of headlining shows while in town, as well as popping up at other highly-regarded festivals. -

'Thinking In Textures' remains the current release from Faker though a collaborative EP with Flume is on the cards so let's hope we see some onstage collaboration from these two. -

Crystal Fighters (UK/SPA) - by incorporating Basque instrumentation into their music, Crystal Fighters have succeeded in creating a noise that is like nothing else. Of course featuring guitar, drums, synth, all the usual suspects, you won’t be totally out of your depth, culturally speaking, but expect to have your perceptions of indie rock shattered in the nicest possible way. -

Kill The Noise (USA) - Riding the same wave of EDM success as Skrillex, Kill The Noise is no small deal. Last in town for Future Music Festival 2013, Kill The Noise's recent remix EP 'Black Magic' is still getting a right flogging at his shows, which is good news for you. -

Jacques Greene
Jacques Greene (CAN) - Combining the best elements of deep techno, RnB and Chicago house, young producer Jacques Greene has forced dance fans to stop and think about the boundaries of these genres. In 3 years, he's collaborated with everyone from Jimmy Edgar, to Tenashe, to The XX, to Radiohead, and Greene has become an authority on the subject of genre bending, something we will see first hand come Field Day. -

Alison Wonderland (AUS) - Yes, we love her and there's no shame in it. DJ/Producer Alison Wonderland couldn't be hotter right now. Having just dropped her debut original cut 'Get Ready', the classically trained wunderkind is set to show the international EDM scene who's boss. -

Elizabeth Rose (AUS) - There's a strong sense that there's something big on the near horizon for Elizabeth Rose. With her current single 'The Good Life' being praised by international tastemakers, it's sorta impossible for this to not be the case. Rose will be dropping her new EP in future months and is sure to be planning a big, big show for Field Day. -
Cosmos Midnight
Cosmo’s Midnight (AUS) - This Sydney outfit are not wasting any time at all. Releasing original singles and flipping tracks from the likes of FlyLo, Burial and Four Tet, Cosmo’s Midnight are making as much noise as possible. The crew found themselves performing at Listen Out 2013 as triple j Unearthed winners, so they’re clearly onto something good. -

Panama - After topping Hype Machine with their single 'It’s Not Over' and current single 'Always' looking to follow suit, Sydney crew Panama have turned a whole lotta heads as they push forward with their odes to yacht rock, hopeful house and the '90s. With their sophomore EP on the horizon, this will be a rare moment to catch the 4-piece before they start hitting the main stages of festivals the world over.
