More details surrounding the 2022 edition of Sydney’s beloved Field Day have emerged, including exactly when we’re going to cop the full lineup.
The New Year’s Day staple is returning to its home at The Domain after taking a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic that unfolded in Sydney over last year’s holiday period.
Next year’s affair is going to look a little different to previous events, with the festival only opting for one stage that will feature 100% Australian artists.
Punters will also need to show proof of double vaccination, or a negative COVID test within the 72 hours prior to the festival.
Organisers have also said that if you can no longer attend the festival due to a positive COVID test or being identified as a close-contact, they’ll roll your ticket over to the following year’s Field Day.
The full lineup will be dropping via triple j next Tuesday, 16th November at 8AM, with tickets going on sale on Thursday, 18th November at 12PM AEDT. They’ll start at $125 + $7 booking fee.
Organisers have aptly dubbed this year the Post-Apocalyptic Restart To the Year, or P.A.R.T.Y. as they’re calling it.
“If there’s ever been a time to get together and celebrate it’s right now, right? We’re so happy that Field Day 2022 can happen and can play its part in the regeneration of Australia’s live music scene. More than ever, it feels like the perfect way to start the new year,” said John Wall, Ming Gan and Adelle Robinson of Fuzzy in a joint statement.
