Florence + The Machine Announce Third Album, Share New Single ‘What Kind Of Man’

Confirming all our speculation over the past week, Florence + The Machine have officially announced their third studio album, titled How Big How Blue How Beautiful. They have also shared the dramatic video for single What Kind of Man.

The announcement and video follows an album teaser of sorts released by Florence Welch earlier this week, in the form of a video for the album title track How Big How Blue How Beautiful. The new album will serve as a follow-up to 2011’s Ceremonials and is expected to be released in Australia on Friday 29th May 2015.

Ceremonials was so fixated on death and water, and the idea of escape or transcendence through death, but the new album became about trying to learn how live, and how to love in the world rather than trying to escape from it,” said Welch in a statement. “Which is frightening because I’m not hiding behind anything but it felt like something I had to do.”

The album was produced by Markus Dravs (Björk, Arcade Fire) and also features collaborations with Paul Epworth Kid Harpoon and John Hill.

The new video for single What Kind of Man is a cinematic and dramatic representation of the bombastic song. It shot in LA and Mexico by director Vincent Haycock and features choreography by Ryan Heffington. See the new album details and watch the video below.
