Flume and Tame Impala mark the only two Australian acts that are up for a Grammy award next year, as the nominations were revealed earlier this morning.
Tame Impala earned themselves two nominations, one for ‘Best Alternative Album’ with The Slow Rush and one for ‘Best Rock Song’ with ‘Lost In Yesterday’.
Meanwhile, Flume scored him a nomination for ‘Best Dance Recording’ with ‘The Difference’ alongside Toro y moi.
As for the rest of the noms, Beyoncé extends her lead as most Grammy nominated woman in history with a further nine nods, more than anyone else this year. She’s also up twice for ‘Record Of The Year’, once for ‘Black Parade’ and once for ‘Savage (Remix)’ with Megan Thee Stallion.
Trailing Beyoncé are Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Ricch, who all earned six nominations. Brittany Howard earned five nominations for her solo debut outside of Alabama Shakes, and Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers, Justin Bieber and DaBaby all earned four.
