Foo Fighters Members Share Epic Cover Of Rush’s ‘2112 Overture’

Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of rock outfit Foo Fighters have recorded a cover of Rush’s track 2112 Overture with producer Nick Raskulinecz, which they performed live back in 2013.

Earlier this week we heard that Rush had brought Grohl and Hawkins on board for the special 40th anniversary reissue of their 1976 album 2112, and now audio of the cover has surfaced online.

As Consequence Of Sound reports, the pair’s cover premiered on CBC Radio 2’s The Strumbo Show earlier this week, when Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush came on the show to preview the forthcoming record.

Aside from Grohl and Hawkins’ 2112 Overture cover, the forthcoming reissue of 2112 also features covers by Alice In Chains and Steve Wilson, and will be released on 16th December.
