Foo Fighters‘ forthcoming HBO television series, detailing the creation of their new album Sonic Highways, will be fast-tracked to Australian TV screens thanks to the free-to-air Go! Network. The series will premiere on Go! at 4:30pm Saturday, 18th October, just one hour after it premieres in the US.
The Sonic Highways television series maps Foo Fighters’ recent travels across the US, during which the band drew inspiration for their new album of the same name from music royalty in various cities. Some of the notable industry figures who’ll appear in the show include Pharrell, Slash, Butch Vig, Macklemore, LL Cool J, The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, Ben Gibbard, Chuch D and Willie Nelson, amongst others.
What’s more, Foo Fighters are set to perform on The Late Show With David Letterman every day this week, just to make sure there’s an abundance of new Foos material going around.
The first official single from Sonic Highways, titled Something From Nothing, is also set to debut this week. As Consequence Of Sound note, the track will hit radio and be available online at 10am CT (US) Thursday, October 16th, the day before the show premieres.
As for an Australian tour following the global release of the band’s new studio album on 10th November, Foo Fighters have said that Australian fans will be seeing them “sooner than you think”. A very promising sign.
The Sonic Highways television series is also available to purchase as a season pass on iTunes, giving fans an instant download of each episode after it screens.
