American metalcore outfit For All Those Sleeping have decided to call it a day. The Minnesotan quintet, who visited Australia for last year’s Warped Tour, broke the news on Facebook.
In the post the group writes that they don’t consider their disbanding as a ‘break-up’ but rather mission accomplished. After seven years together the band have achieved the “three simple goals” that saw them come together in the first place — “to travel the world, write music that we cared about, and share it with as many people as possible”.
“22 tours, four continents, 18 countries and three albums later we feel like we have accomplished that goal and now it’s time for us to start the next chapter in our lives,” the statement reads. “We want it to be clear that we are not breaking up … We have just decided to put an end to For All Those Sleeping.”
The post doesn’t elaborate on what exactly is the “next chapter” for the various members, who we could see reappear in solo projects or new bands, but For All Those Sleeping do share their sentiment for their loyal fan base. “We want to thank all of our fans for all of the support and memories over the years and as often as it is said, we truly believe we have the best fans period.”
For All Those Sleeping will say farewell to fans during their Not Your American Idols tour, which will conclude in the band’s home city of Minnesota and Fargo in November. Here’s hoping we soon hear from the members of For All Those Sleeping, in whatever incarnation they next take.
