Frank Ocean Still Has Heaps Of Unreleased Music From ‘Blonde’ & ‘Endless’

Frank Ocean still has hours and hours of unreleased material that never made it onto either of his recent projects Blonde and Endless, according to his session guitarist Billy ‘Spaceman’ Patterson.

In an interview with Pitchfork, Patterson reveals there was plenty of stuff he worked on that is yet to be released.

“There’s a lot of stuff that we recorded that I still haven’t heard yet,” he says. “We recorded a lot of music.”

Spaceman goes on to talk about the long sessions he spent in the studio with Ocean. “Our sessions are like, man, we had like 14-hour, 15, 16-hour sessions. So there’s a whole lot of music that we wind up covering … we’re creating continually. So something may happen and [Frank might] say, ‘Oh, that’s nice, let’s try this here.’”

Ocean’s plan to release two albums was kept a tight secret, even from musicians like Spaceman who actually recorded on them. “When [Frank] dropped Endless, I thought that was it,” he says.

“So then it was like, ‘OK.’ And then, boom, a couple of days later, Blonde. ‘Oh, those songs! I remember them.’”

Will the unreleased music from the Blonde and Endless sessions ever see the light of day? Only time will tell.
