Scottish indie rockers Franz Ferdinand have completed recording their new album and will be heading to Australia in November, fuelling speculation that they’ll be sitting atop the line-up for Harvest festival in 2013.
FasterLouder confirmed that the quartet, who took to the stage at Lollapalooza in Chile this weekend, will be hitting our shores for a string of dates later this year, presumably on the back of a new album.
Franz played 4 new songs at the festival – The Blackpool Illuminati, Stand On The Horizon, I’ll Never Get Your Bullet Out of My Head and Right Thoughts! Right Words! Right Action! – and are said to expect to have mixing completed on their fourth studio album in the next few weeks. Makes perfect sense that they’d be doing some festival dates to plump the album action, eh?
The band, who had arguably the biggest alt hit of the last decade with Take Me Out, have previously been rumoured to appear at Splendour In The Grass, but a November appearance Down Under will place them in the country right on time for Harvest. The last appearance by Franz Ferdinand in Australia was during the 2010 Future Music Festival.
