To say that 2009 has been a mighty eventful year for the six kids of Brisbane’s Ball Park Music would be an understatement! It’s been all go since April and the release of their debut eight-track EP Rolling On The Floor, Laughing Ourselves To Sleep followed by house fires and shows galore all over Brisbane stages with the likes of Philadelphia Grand Jury, Hungry Kids of Hungary, DZ, Kid Confucius, Drawn from Bees and The Boat People.
So what better way to round out the year then to release a brand spanking new single by the name of ‘Sea Strangers (I Don’t Really Know You)’. The song sees the band abandoning the self-produced days of old and enlisting the knob-twiddling talents of producer/engineer Tristan Hoogland at Psi-Fi Records and is the first taste of things to come with the band’s forthcoming debut album in 2010.
To celebrate the digital release of ‘Sea Strangers (I Don’t Really Know You)’ (November 13) as well as their debut EP (out now) on iTunes, the band will not only be giving it away via their various online social networking mediums but also offering six different b-sides. Hardcore and net-savvy fans are encouraged to tune in to their Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Lastfm pages all day Monday for the opportunity to collect all six exclusive, previously unreleased b-sides.
